 Providing our customers with product tracking solutions using Bar Code readers has long been a part of our automation engineering repertoire. So it was natural for us to begin working on advanced RFID Solutions that will either replace or supplement less flexible methods of in-process product tracking.

One of our current RFID Solutions uses an Alien
Reader to communicate with a serial port on an Allen Bradley PLC
5/80. It employs an Ethernet to Serial Converter. Since there are a
multitude of “legacy” PLC 5’s still being used in
manufacturing, this type of interface provides and efficient
retrofit.
